CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre has been supporting the Mercosur’s dynamic expansion since 1994 with a South America Desk based in France. Our activities in the region have included advising and assisting governmental and private interests within the framework of privatisation transactions.

With the rapid growth of commercial activity in the Mercosur region, CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre decided to expand its South American practice by establishing a local presence to better serve the needs of our clients through the medium of CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre Mercosur.

Following the opening of an office in Buenos Aires in 1999, CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre Mercosur now provides legal and tax advice for businesses and investors involved in transactions or interested in setting up operations in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay and other countries in the region.

Our organisation was reinforced in 2000 by the opening of an office in Montevideo and the creation of a specific Brazilian Desk, in order to cover the entire region more thoroughly. In 2010, we expanded our local presence with the opening of our Mendoza and Rosario offices in Argentina.

Our Mercosur offices operate in close coordination. To fulfil specific missions, we form cross-border and cross-disciplinary teams, comprising professionals from each office, depending on the jurisdiction involved and/or the skills and expertise required.
